*Eternity throws a javelin at maximum power, but it misses, as does Hulgyr's sword against the other.*
*The final Afflicted moves over to Hulgyr and flanks, slashing with its claw, but the attack is weak and goes wide, deflected off the orcish blade.*
*Ironwolf brutally slaughters the one he can reach, but he can't cleave to the other one on Hulgyr's other side.*
(OOC: Almayce, then Zaeryl, then Eternity, who are all going to use ranged physical attacks probably and probably won't kill it. Let's just roll for Hulgyr and see if this is over?)

"It is not too far now," Zaeryl instructs, "But still no short-term minute powers yet. Wait a spell."
*He leads them onward, and miraculously, they don't find any enemy groups until he signals a stop.*
"We are very close. Activate minute powers now, but do not go crazy--that darkness means we do not have time to rest in between this and our biggest battle, and these powers will have faded before the big fight. Plan accordingly."
*Zaeryl follows his own advice with some very light short term buffs.*

Ironwolf will make sure he is doubly psionically focussed and will manifest the following powers in order:
Expansion, augmented for duration (3 pp, 50 minutes)
Bite of the Wolf (1 pp, 5 minutes)
Vigor (1 pp, 5 thp, 5 minutes)
Force Screen (1 pp, +4 AC, 5 minutes)

"Then we begin our approach," Zaeryl nods.
*As the group heads forward and onward, they come across a small band of Afflicted guarding the path onward, just three, although one of them is one of the bigger Afflicted.*
"It seems we were expected," Zaeryl muses, "This is just a distraction--don't waste any power."
