That being said, manifesting on the defensive is rather easy for someone who is built expecting to have to regain focus.

ooc: At a +12 concentration check, a 3rd level spell has a 25% chance to fizzle when cast defensively. 5' Step and cast will always work if you pay attention to the map.

(OOC: She can back up 5 feet easily, in which case she will hit two. If she makes a different move that keeps her, unfortunately, in a threat range, she will hit three. She will also hit three if she backs up five feet and extends to 15'. If she takes an AoO and moves to the correct spot, she can hit four with 15'. She can also do that but go to 20' and hit all 6)

Before Combat: Almayce will convert two of his cantrips to heal himself completely before the group continues forward.

Combat: If Almayce can cast Color Spray at more than one afflicted without casting defensively or taking an AoO, he'll do so, otherwise he'll try to evade (5ft step) and defend himself (total defense).

OOC: Almayce hasn't been updated to 7th level, as he hasn't yet been approved for 6th (I mailed him for approval before we noticed he gains enough xp for level 7). He's missing 1 hp and 4 spells, but I doubt he's going to use the now anyway (Though he probably would pick Mage Armor as an additional spell).

ooc: please note that hulgyr has uncanny dodge so his AC is not flat footed in a surprise round.. just to make sure
NPC Hulgyr to keep things going. Since he's a (really big) dumb orc he'll hit anything that he can get his sword at, saving power attack until he's sure if he can hit it or until things seem desperate.

-edit Aside from cleave, Hulgyr now also has great cleave, so no limit to the cleavage!

(OOC: The unfortunate limit is that the enemy is not spaced well for Great Cleave, or really even Cleave for that matter. As for Uncanny Dodge, unfortunately, Hulgyr's AC is not spectacular even in total. The Partial Charge bonus allowed the enemy to hit him, despite a mediocre roll)
