Ashin's Commission: The Great Escape!

(OOC: Worked fine for me :))

*Almayce's bolt pentrates deep into the thigh of the Afflicted Eternity shot. It looks like it won't take much to finish it off.*

(OOC: 4 more damage to that one, so 32 now)

*Suddenly, another of the sneaky Afflicted appears from the shadows and lashes out at Michael, avoiding the back of the group now that Ironwolf is protecting his adjacent allies with his long reach. However, the attack is a disastrous failure, missing the chance for a surprise assault completely. The remaining Afflicted are stunned.*

*Zaeryl fires off a shot at the much-bolted large Afflicted. After the third crossbow bolt, it finally falls and is still.*

(OOC: Michael and Eternity now)

ooc: what is the status of the Afflicted that goes just after Eternity and before the front line? If it is stunned and will be active on its turn, she'll fire at it (crossbow if she could hit it, minimal energy ray (1pp) if it is in close combat unless it is possible to finish it with a bit more power). If it doesn't exist she'll wait till the other three have gone.

(OOC: It's dead--they pummeled it. So she'll delay--in an interesting sidenote, the 'front line' isn't actually on the front line except Michael--they're all off to the side dealing with the aforementioned dead Afflicted. This could be troublesome, as there's no room to charge. Hulgyr has plenty of movement to reach any target, but Ironwolf can only reach the uninjured agile Afflicted that is flanking Michael. Remember that all the badly injured big Afflicted are now unstunned

Ironwolf, Hulgyr, and Almayce go)

Hulgyr hurries to the front. He'll try to get into a cleaving position. If that isn't possible, he'll put himself between the bad guys and the rest of the party.
The swings his greatsword at the afflicted but horrible misses.

ooc: attack 12, damage 29. Rolls are here

Ironwolf will chop at the afflicted within his 10' reach, and then use his move action to better position himself on the battlefield. He tries to position himself such that an opponent will have to move at least 10' in order to attack him, so at to deprive them of the opportunity to bring both claws and bit into play. Also, if possible he'll take a wall or corner to avoid flanking.

Greatsword attack (correct attack bonus = 9, 8 entered by typo) (1d20+8+1=18+1=19, 5d6+7=30)

*Ironwolf has no live Afflicted within reach, but by using Michael and Hulgyr as decoys, since they are already in range of full attacks from the Afflicted, Ironwolf can easily find a position where he will not be very close to any Afflicted except his target, the uninjured stealthy Afflicted that is flanking Michael. With a mighty swing and an incredible exertion of raw power and crackling psionic energy, Ironwolf brings his foe from full health to instant defeat, and the Afflicted falls to the ground in a bloody heap.*

(OOC: Almayce, and delayed Eternity. The situation: we have three decently injured large Afflicted that Zaeryl hit with the power all the way at the beginning and then nobody has really hurt since. Hulgyr and Michael are both adjacent and in full attack range of two enemies, and the third, thanks to its reach, can get one too by five-foot stepping forward)

If he can affect all three large afflicted at once, Almayce will cast Glitterdust at them.

OOC: Will save DC 16 to resist.
