Ashin's Commission: The Great Escape!

*Almayce withdraws through Eternity's squares.*

"That Dispel...where did it..." Zaeryl begins to move forward to make room for Eternity.

*She takes the opening and steps forward, biting the Afflicted quite powerful as she gobbles it up, slurping it into her wormlike body. Zaeryl nods and walks through the open space created by this, closing his eyes as he manifests a power.*

"Okay--listen up everyone! The Dispel came from our true enemy--She's invisible, flying up there--" he points above the melee to the top of the high ceiling of this cavernous room, perhaps 50 feet up, "Almayce, your Glitterdust would have come in handy, but its too late now. She's pretty obviously going to fly out of Touchsight range now, but at least we all know she's there."

*The three normal-looking folks from the back look on with interest, and they saunter forward slowly, spreading out from each other so that each is about 50 feet from the others and all of them are now about 80 feet out from Hulgyr.*

(OOC: For some reason I thought that the post from Michael was an action that I had resolved, but I see now that it isn't. He should have acted before Zaeryl made the announcement, so I assume he would have continued his movement towards the back?

Anyway, it'll be Hulgyr and Ironwolf again now!)

(ooc: can I have spellcraft/psicraft rolls when spells/powers are used? including ally's. Part of Eternity's character is that she is learning from Z and Ironwolf about how to handle her burgeoning powers and it helps to know what they are from her perspective instead of just metagaming it cause I know what they are.

EDIT: Psicraft +15)

(OOC: Ah, yes. Zaeryl suppressed his power manifestation so you don't get the check for that. The spell in question was cast by an invisible caster (no visual) and the sound was masked by the Afflicted's massive shout (so couldn't hear the auditory) hence Zaeryl's muttering of "Clever". Ironwolf used Concealing Amorpha, I believe. Almayce used Bless and Enlarge Person.)

(OOC: Ah, yes. Z is inherently paranoid, so he suppresses manifestations so that enemies who know Psionics won't know what's coming, unless he's trying to impress or scare an opponent minor enough to be awed by the display itself. There's absolutely no reason not to try to suppress otherwise, as a failed check just means you didn't suppress, so you lose nothing in the attempt ;))

(OOC: He specifically moved 20 feet away from all enemies and then they all moved away from him to attack other friends, so no not within 15'--however, he can charge Hulgyr's last guy or charge back to the casters and take care of their last harrasser or even charge over to Michael and Michael's assailant. basically, he's within 50' of all enemies and has straight line paths to all of them)

ooc: Hmm. Perhaps a slight misunderstanding here. Entirely my fault now that I re-read what I wrote. Ironwolf moved 20' in a direction away from the enemies, as that is how far he can get with a single move action. Without a map, I was unsure how far away from the remaining afflicted that put him. He can't actually move 50' even with a charge, though I suppose what you're saying is that with 40' of movement and 10' reach he can make it work.

If he's that far away, I take it the dispell magic had an unusually large area? Possibly it was widened or something?

Ironwolf will try to help out Michael by attacking his opponent.

Charge attack with greatsword, 1pt PA (1d20+10=30, 5d6+9=33)
Crit confirm and extra damage (1d20+10=24, 5d6+9=30)

Bits of afflicted fly everywhere!

(OOC: Ah, you misunderstood me too. When I said 'Within 50 feet' I meant '50 feet or less'. He is far less than that distance from some of them, and that's why the Dispel hit him (He is farthest from Michael's atatcker, 50 feet, because Michael was hooking left and around and I had Ironwolf move 20 feet around right and out of melee. He is only 25 feet, then, from Hulgyr's attacker. The distance back to the enemy attacking the casters (who is in Ironwolf's old spot) is 35 feet--he moved twenty feet forward and then twenty feet diagonal, so it will be 35 feet to get back to the casters). Dispel Magic is a 20 foot radius so a 40 foot diameter, so there was actually a bit of extra space on a regular area Dispel to hit them both (as a fun random comment, perhaps it actually is Widened, but it didn't need to be ;))

As an aside, you may not want to waste that crit on a dead enemy (and/or save focus on an injured one), depending on if Michael attacked his assailant already ;) I did accidentally skip him and such.)
