Asoiaf

Red Viper

First Post
I was thinking the ASOIAF would be a fun setting to play. I haven't gone out and bought the game that some canadian company made, and I have purchased the dragon magazines that had the conversions for D&D. I feel though that the conversions for D&D would take away from D&D itself. There is one game though that would work quite well for this setting. WFRP. It is relatively low magic, so only a couple of the many professions would have to be removed that dealt with higher magic since magic is making a come back. What do you think?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but...

I thought I read in an interview somewhere that ASOIAF was (somehow, loosely) based off of a GURPS game run by the author (IIRC). I think this is also true for Martin's Wild Cards series, which was based off an old GURPS Supers game (which, IIRC, GURPS later released a sourcebook for).

A Song Of Ice And Fire, a series by George Martin, the first book of which is called A Game of Thrones.

On a side note, Guardians of Order is coming out with the official RPG for this setting some time in october or november, if I remember correctly.
