Astral Construct question for P. Kitty

PirateCat our psionic guru I need a little help or at least direction, going to play a 7th lvl. shaper in a (one time) game tonight. I got everthing already down pat skills, feats etc, BUT is there any other "menus" for the astral construct then whats in the Psionics Handbook ? As a 7th Lvl shaper Todac ( a Gnome) can use 1 from the "B" menu or subsitute 2 abilities from the "A" menu, but at 4 or 5 abiities each it limits my options a bit. Since this is my first psionic PC much less shaper I want to "do it right" as it were.

Well, I'm no Pkitty, but they are the only menus I'm aware of, but on the mind's eye section of the wizards website, there is a feat called advanced construction listed, which has additonal menus you can use. They are quite a few good feats for shapers in the list as well. I recomend you download the mind's eye pdf from there, and give it a look, as it's full of cool psionic stuff.

Well lets see the tables go A, B, C. I haven't looked for a while to see how big the lsits are but I'll take your word about 5 on each. Yes if you have a powerful enough AC that gets abilities form menu B, you can trade one in for 2 from A.

The problem is your a 7th level shaper and ahve access to 3rd level powers only so AC3 is your best one. And AC3 gets 3 menu A abilities so no trading down.

Now in the minds eye thing there may be a feat for trading up, I think so but I'm not sure.

But hey the bigger problem is AC 1,2,3 suck. Well 1 is ok since it costs a mere 1 PP, 2 is not terrible for its cost, but 3 gets a very tiny upgrade from 2 and is not worth the PP IMO.

If you were 1 level higher you'd get access to AC4 and its a decent power up form 3 and may be worth it. And with ecto puppet you could manifest it as a standard action at 9PP with the lame errata.

Shapers IMO are better in a support role, take sudden minor creation for example. Unfortunately fabricate is 4th level so your barred form the best of the best of the powers.

Shapers are really fun though, a Shaper was my longest lived psion.

Also, don't forget to use ecto puppet and "trigger power" to dramatically reduce the summoning time. This is a big advantage.

Nope, definitely just Astr. Con. 3. psions get new level powers at level 4,6,8,10,12 etc. just like a sorcerer.
