I think that was a problem with the DM's mentality fixed on D&D and Vancian magic, not the actual system, though.
The At-Wills don't bother me so much (though in this play test I think I have a couple of concerns about the power of some of the At-Wills, but they certainly warrant a playtest).
At-Will healing is what crosses my line, just a gut feeling (entirely subjective).

Oh yeah, if you had that - definitely use it! If I was playing a system with at-will healing I'd be topping up after every fight too!
