Do PCs run out of ammo in your games?

I track arrows in WFRP. Not because I want them to run out but because I want them to treat missile combat as a luxury and make sure that combat in general is a dangerous affair best avoided.

I think I tried having the player's ammo back in the first session I ever ran, back in 2000 or so. We all agreed it was dumb halfway through though, and never looked back.
 

Now, my experiences might be unusual, but throughout 12 years of playing various editions of the game I've never seen a PC run out of ammo.
I've been playing for almost 35 years now. While running out of ammo hasn't happened often in my games (at least not if you've put any sort of forethought into things), it has happened.

Recently, the halfling rogue in my campaign set off into the woods with 20 or so bolts for his crossbow, despite having all the opportunity in the world to bring more. A few sessions later, he had fired his last one, and he spent the next half-dozen sessions with no ranged attack except for thrown daggers.

While I understand that many people find it tedious to track things like food and ammo, I find that it helps immerse me in my character's role. And it can heighten the drama when I start getting down to my last few arrows (or whatever).

Decent rate of fire but I would wager that the pull strength of that bow would only be dangerous to unarmored targets at short range.
 

Ammo tracking is one of those tedious tasks that usually only detract from the game. Any archer I've played or have seen at the table are sure to carry plenty of arrows. If we found our selves in a situation where running out of ammo was a real concern then spell casters would be equally concerned with mundane material components.
