(Atlas/Penumbra) Dynasties & Demagogues

To be slightly less gnomic, I was sorely tempted to use Mike Mearls' excellent ardent defender PrC from the Monster's Handbook. The bodyguard I've developed does some different things that I like, though, so we're sticking with it.
If I may plug, er, suggest something. You might want to look at the Disenchanter from Joe's Book of Enchantment. It is designed for the paranoid spymaster who protects the king from Enchantment and Illusion.

Dynasties and Demagogues is a 160-page toolkit for running and playing in political adventures in any D20 System campaign setting. Designed for both players and GMs-
It's about bloody frelling time that someone did something like this! Political intrigue truly is lacking in the d20 gaming paradigm; for d20 as a game engine to truly achieve its potential, it must be a game engine that handles the salon-style of campaign play that competing engines like Storyteller currently dominate. I see this product as a step in that direction, which is a good thing.

I can't wait to see how well the book delivers on its promise.

Awesome

This looks terrific. I was especially intrigued by the two 'political' spells and the exploration of how to operate in different types of political environments.

On the ball!

Now, how soon can we make March get here?

Racing towards March

One way to make the trip to March seem shorter is to check out our official Atlas Games website (www.atlas-games.com) for the first look at our forthcoming Penumbra Fantasy Bestiary. Peeks at that book start this week and should take you all the way into (or through) February.

Then it's just a short hop to March!

I'm always up for a good plug. (That sounds vaguely dirty, but never mind.) :)

At this point, the content's pretty set. However, "keep everything compatible!" has been a mantra. It should be very easy to plug that and anything else you like into a game using rules from Dynasties and Demagogues.

(Oh, and as long as Will is plugging Fantasy Bestiary, I'll note that I have stuff in that too, so you should buy many copies and give them as Valentine's Day gifts. :D)

plugging away,

Beastiary... now will there be monsters in the beastiary specifically for this type of campaign or is this book going to go the self contained route?

Count me in as another person who is eagerly awaiting this book! I really need something like this.

Everything produced under the Penumbra label has been really useful to me. You guys do excellent work!
