They are authorized for all the tools that you see. But it does look like they are showing that they are working more then they are actually working.

George decides to ignore the closed transtube, and see if he can gauge how far away another one would be.

Denton observes the workers closely trying to figure out what they are attempting to repair.

Also, he will pick up parts and tools he is authorized on and begin inspecting them for correct length/size and correct usage for the task.

Brett goes over to the workers and takes them in quickly. But not too quickly. And not to intently. "Good daycycle citizens. I am glad you can find happiness in the Computer's work."

The closed trasntube is the most direct route. There is a rarely used staircase down a hallyway about 50 meters that should get you up to the same area. You've passed it by many times but never actually seen anyone use it.

One looks up and replies. "Ya, Happiness, good Day cycle, yeppers, uh huh."

In a quiet but jovial tone Denton replies, "Oh, sorry. Have a happy daycycle."

He continues to scrutinize their work.
