Attention WotC: Drop the must-sign-in thing until it works, please.

I haven't had any problems, though the other day I tried to login twice with my user name before I realized they were asking for my email address.

Also no problems here, aside from the 'forgot my password' necessary workaround. And in Wizards' defense, most boards and sites I visit have cookies in the 2-4 week expiry area. ENW is actually unusual in my usual batch of haunts for having a permanent login.

In general, no. Certainly not an entire article. We have generally allowed excerpts for purposes of starting discussion, but they have copyright, and posting the full text here would not be Fair Use.

Good point. I'll remove the one I copied for Piratecat then. I just wasn't thinking straight...

I had trouble logging in as well. So I just started using the 'Printer Friendly' button at the bottom of the 'You must be logged in' screen. It works for me every time. Try that out if you're having trouble.

My log in trouble was because I was using the wrong email address. I'm going to hate doing this every 2 weeks.

They're definitely going to patch that hole pretty soon. :(

You mean patch up a means to access their content that is quick, easy, and convenient for the gamers they love so much? Aww, they wouldn't do that.

But if they do, and they don't fix the issues with their login system first, I'll be all for grabbing pitchforks and marching on WoTC HQ.

Add me to the list of those who had major problems with it. I migrated over to Gleemax and while I could log on to read the articles, I just got database error pages when I tried to go over to the forums. Cleared the cache/cookies, made sure I was logged on at the Gleemax site - nada. If I was logged out I could see the forums, but of course couldn't post. The real bitter pill was that there was a forum you could post your problems... but of course I couldn't log into any of the forums!

In the end I had to create a new identity and that seemed to do the trick.

Well, it's a hole that would allow a non-paying subscriber to access the content for free. While I agree it'd be nice to get the log-in issue resolved first, my experience with IT folks says that the right hand and left hand sometimes have very different priorities.
