Well, I can't even think about Kalamar without pronouncing it like calamares ("squids" in spanish, delectable)!

whenever i hear Kalamar, i think of the Kalmar Union; which might actually be appropriate if its got Scandanavian-like cultures in it...

Yes, but unfortunately, according to the new player's guide, Fhokki is actually pronounced "Folky" as in "Folk music", so you just can't win. Make it sound foreign (whatever that happens to be for you...) and exotic, and I'm sure it will sound right for you and your players.
