(Attn Zulkir) Ack! Unexpected address change!

First Post
Yesterday I got a message telling me that - as of August 31st - my primary e-mail provider is gone. All servers are going offline, all operations are shutting down.

Yeah. A week's notice. Real professional, huh?

But that's beside the point. Here's the problem: I'm moving to Iowa. In fact, I'm moving right now - I'm currently staying with some relatives a couple states over, and I'll be heading over to the middle of nowhere in a couple days. My snail mail address will be changing. My phone number will be changing. And now my e-mail address - the one remaining constant - may likewise change before the semi-finalists are announced. (Now, my parents and sister are still living in my old place, but it may take them some time to forward any messages for me. Obviously, it would be more convenient if I could be contacted directly.)

So here's my question - is there any way I can get in touch with someone at WotC and get the contact info on my entries changed? I realize the odds aren't too good for any of us, myself included, but I'd hate to make it to the next round only to be disqualified because I didn't get back to Wizards in time.

Snail mail can be handled by the US post office. They'll forward your mail for (I believe) 3 months.

Good luck!

And how long does it take for them to process such requests? I'm in Iowa as of Wednesday...I don't get much mail, and I was counting on getting to keep my e-mail, so I didn't submit a forwarding request before I left.

Don't mean to sound rude here, sorry...thanks for the advice.

The post office can change with 48 hours notice, I've found. Go down there first thing Monday and fill out the form. You'll be all set.

I never had any problems when I did it, but I wasn't expecting mail that very week. The people to talk to would be the post office.

But on a very sad and pragmatic note, your options are somewhat limited. Talk to the phone company about forwarding your calls (they can do this) and talk to the post office.

Good luck!

If you want to notice WotC of the change, you'd better send them an email, rather than posting on a message board!

IMXP, WotC customer service has been usually helpful. For this particular case, though, you may want to see if they have an email specifically set up for the contest.

And we return once again to that darn hole in my bucket. I posted here in the hope that someone - preferably AV - would be able to point me in the direction of a specific contact point. *Sigh* Well, thanks for the advice.
