Suck at the linkage so hope that works.

Now my opinions, well I just loved it. Yes its not just a druid, but its maybe what the druid should of been. Can't see everything since we're unfamiliar with the spell system/spells, but this classes backtext screams nature mage, one with anture etc more than the druid does to me. It has a bigger feel of the nature mages I've read in novels, whcih to me is a good thing.

AU

To be honest, I was kinda dismissing AU at first (to my shame, without much actual knowledge of the product). I figured it would either be too radical and unbalanced, or not different enough from D&D. I should have had more faith in Monty. :(

However, with the more I learn about it, the more I am anticipating AU. To be honest, I'm pretty much considering this a "must buy". I think it was Mr. Noah who said he is more excited about AU than 3.5. I think I agree now, as I see 3.5 as more of a necessary (to me...not saying everyone should run out and buy it!) purchase, where AU is something I'll buy just out of it's sheer innovation and "coolness".

Thanks!

So, the spellcasting seems really good to me. I wonder if Simple spells are just going to suck in AU?

Check it out: A Greenbond at 10th level gets

5/4/4/3/3/2

spell slots per day, and can ready

9/7/6/5/4/3

spells.

In contrast, a Cleric in normal D&D gets

6/4+1/4+1/3+1/3+1/2+1

So the only advantage that a Cleric has in terms of spells per day is Domain spells (and one 0th level spell -- woo), and the Greenbond has a more favorable "spontaneous-like" casting ability, which blows the Cleric's spontaneous heals out of the water.

well the cleric has two good saves as opposed to one good one moderate, the cleric has medium and heavy armor, the cleric has d8 instead of d6 HP, the cleric has medium BAB. The cleric outside of magic is better the greenbond, it very well may be better at magic though without the spells its hard to say.

I didn't notice the BAB thing, which is a very good point (the others are, I think, somewhat secondary). But I'll still be interested to see what kind of spells the Greenbond gets. I gather that there's only one spell chart for everyone, so Simple spells will be shared by both the more divine-like and the more arcane-like classes.

Lots of people have, and Eric might very well be one of them for all I know, but if you mean on the front page of this site, it was Morrus. Either way I agree.

Except for one thing. The new MM is on a par with AU for me, because it will actually support high-level characters properly from what I've seen. I can't believe people think the new Titan is too good for a 21 CR! Spoken like people who haven't seen what a joke the existing high-level monsters are, against what are supposed to be CR-appropriate parties...

As for the Greenbond, I like it, but I'll say I'm intrigued rather than overwhelmed. But given that this is, by a good margin, the core class from UA that I was least interested in, that's a pretty good sign. I will say the spells prepared at one time were a lot more generous than I expected; I may tone it down for world-specific reasons in my next game (I'm sure it plays well in the default UA setting, though).
