Audio Commentary on PDFs

OK, this is just surprising. A pdf product with audio promotion/description/commentary! Really weird

Not sure whether I like it or not. It's innovative, but I actually would have preferred it in text I think. Actually hearing the people behind it is interesting though.

Thanks to Phil Reed for referencing from RPG.net. I'm not associated with him or Scorched Earth Studios in any way, just thought it bore mentioning.

Fraser Ronald of Sword's Edge Publishing started doing them back in June I believe, which became the start of his Accidental Survivor's Podcast based on results. It is a great tool for those that want to understand how a designer went about creating their product, perhaps so that you yourself can add upon it. Fraser nicknamed them blodcasts.

I like the concept of a multi-media ad, although personally I'd prefer a flash movie with music, pics and sound. I think I'm more susceptible to a flashy, dramatic ad than a factual discussion!

Yes, I'm always up for trying different methods. Like Duncan Felden's old ads for Dark Quest and EN Publishing products.

Yeah, I remember those. They were pretty cool.

I really like the audio commentary for the new SUS products. Not only is it nice to have some insight into the book's contents and design process, but the casual discussion of it is almost like talking to a friend about a cool new book you got. It's really a great idea, and I hope to see more of them in the future.
