I was about to post in the July thread and realized, hey, August, for more than a week. So, new thread.

I started Jeff Somers' The Electric Church last night.

Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile (after just re-reading the original)

[ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/143917752X/ref=s9_simh_gw_p14_i1?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0432PZPK00NZ5S8AJRH6&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846]Amazon.com: Day by Day Armageddon: Beyond Exile (Book 2) (9781439177525): J. L. Bourne: Books[/ame]

Then that will likely be followed by the 2nd and 3rd books of the Night Angel Trilogy (I read the 1st not realizing it was a trilogy before picking up the Day by Day book).

chapters.indigo.ca: The Night Angel Trilogy: Brent Weeks: Books

Swords Against Darkness I, a sword & sorcery anthology edited by Andrew Offutt. The third book in the series is part of Gary Gygax's legendary Appendix N, which I'm slowly working my way through.

I'm currently in the middle of Dead Beat, by Jim Butcher. One of the Dresden books, in case you didn't know. ;) Got a bunch of the books on loan from my mother who is a used book store shopaholic. Although unless she finds the more recent ones soon, I'm gonna have to buy them new if I want to continue with the series.

You'd be amazed at how often I actually have to do that... stupid used book stores not having every single book in stock whenever anyone randomly stops by...

(I read the 1st not realizing it was a trilogy before picking up the Day by Day book).

The number of times this has happened to me is really annoying...

And the number of times I've gotten this as a gift is also really annoying. Yeah, thanks for that 7.99$ gift. Now because of that, I have to spend 7.99$ x 3 in order to finish the series. Your gift cost ME more money than it cost YOU.

Finished Lanceheim by Tim Davy a little bit ago. If you're not familiar the series: it's about a town populated by stuffed animals. The first book, Amberville, was a psychological/organized crime drama. This one is more focused on the religious/cult elements of the town. It's an odd series, but fun.

I'm planning on finally picking up the Dark Tower series next. I haven't decided yet if I'm going to re-read I and II (where I previously stopped) or just go right in to III.

Reading the comic versions of The Legend of Drizzt. I enjoyed Homeland for the look at drow society, with its intrigue and culture. Exile I didn't find that interesting with its almost random flow of events.
