Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog?

I remember purchasing a book back in the 2nd Ed. days called Madam ???'s Guide to the Realms or something like that. It was basically a book of equipement and stuff you could buy. I have three questions about it:

1. What was its name so I can pick it up again? Edit: Aurora's Whole Realms Catalog
2. What were the stats/basic descriptions of the drow spidersilk bathing suits?
3. What were the stats/cost/basic descriptions of the clockwork toys?

You're thinking of the 'Aurora's Whole Realm's Catalog' ...one of the best supplements ever! I don't have it in front of me, but I do remember the Drow bathing suit. I wish they would do an updated version of this!

Yes, that's it. It was a paperback little book, catalog style.

I'll agree, great book. I spent too much time flipping through it back in high school.

2. 15gp, doubles swim speed if nothing else is worn.

3. If you're talking about the toy toys and no DaRoni's clockwork war devices, they're made in Lantan by the Gondsmen and cost 2gp each. No stats.

I like the section on chainmail undergarments wherein the author muses that the fashions around Waterdeep are getting really stupid. And potentially dangerous, if you think a metal bikini will protect you from an umber hulk.

Don't forget the anecdote about the berserker who ran into battle wearing only a strip of gold around his waist, and was cut down with one strike. Too bad WotC is so "crunch heavy" nowadays, while it was a big list of stuff and costs, the stats were in fine print and meant to be unobtrusive, and the entire book was just so detailed and comprehensive. This was by far the best equipment book ever made for D&D, and on the short list of best books ever made.

The commentary and descriptions were so rich that it really made the setting come alive. Aurora's is the book that got me to love the Realms.
