[AWARD] LOTR is the People's Choice!

In case you didn't watch the Sunday night People's Choice Awards, fantasy genre took two top honors. In the Best Motion Picture category, both The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring and Spider-Man took home an award as co-winners. In the Best Drama Motion Picture, the Fellowship is the sole winner. Sean Astin and his daughter accepted both awards on behalf of the folks who work on the Peter Jackson film.

The presenter Jimmy Smit ("Bail Organa" in Star Wars) even plugged the current film The Two Towers and the upcoming Return of the King.

Next stop, the Golden Globe Awards.

Whoah, I didn't know that. Jimmy Smits is playing the guy who agrees to shelter and 'adopt' Princess Leia? Cool.

BBC television viewers voted FotR the best film of 2002. The award was presented to Peter Jackson on the BBC's Film 2002 programme.

Film 2002 (and now Film 2003) is presented by UK celebrity Jonathan Ross who shops at Orcs Nest (one of London's top RPG stores.) Maybe Wossie (as he is known) plays D&D...
