Babies and Wet-Nurses: A Conversation

The_Universe said:
Can't you just keep talking to her now? From a scene perspective, it makes more sense to have the dynamics shift throughout a single conversation. I don't see much reason to push it back.
What I was trying to say without any success apparently.

From a while back at this point:
"OOC- .....but otherwise why not just stay where we are?"

Either way is fine - I thought this was for the Circle discussion of what to do with the baby... one of those things was the possibility of Dara as wetnurse... but - doesn't matter at all to me. :)

I totally agree - just keep the discussion going here. If you have to send her away and call someone else in, great.

But her knowledge of Justice's past may be related to the mystery she presents with you (Dara, I mean).

I gotta go.

TTY all later. Wish me luck!

Dara is not going to be the wet nurse, but i'd like to start disscussing that IC at this same meeting. So, if we can dump dara so it's just the Circle talking again, maybe we can figure out the wet nurse problem(IC that is :) ).

Then let's assume she' gone.

"If Dara will not serve as your aid, who would you suggest Archonus? What means do you feel are necessary to keep your child alive? What sort of person, what sort of situation?"

Justice smiles softly, "I think that maybe we have very little knowledge of this subject... maybe we need to consult with someone else? Grandfather and Uncle... er... Preston and Dorn, possibly?"

with a firm but gentler voice,
"My child will stay at my side. Until she is capable of defending herself I am her greatest form of protection. She will need to feed though, and it is there that i am found....lacking. She will need a wet-nurse, preferably one that can defend herself, or some other way of bringing the sustenence she needs to her. Magical or otherwise."

"Archonus... are you sure this is where she will be safest? What enemies do you expect her to have? What forces, other than this Circle and its closest friends, even know of the child's existance?

It seems to me she would be much safer under the care of a trusted warrior someplace far, far from the danger we find outselves in the midst of. What drives you to feel you need her at your side?"

"There is no better warrior that i could trust her with. I will not let her be another casulty to improper protection. We thought the Orb was safe under heavy guard from my best Shadows, close friends of mine, and Penny, a powerful mage by her own right. Her role as princess to the queen will remain a secret, but i will not hide my child from anyone. Instead *I* will protect her. I do not see my child as collateral the enemy can use against me, i simply see her as one of the best things to ever happen to me, a living breathing embodiment of my happiness. What drives me to feel that I need her at my side?'
Love. I can and will protect her, but not by shoving her off onto some warrior that isn't even half as capable as i am and trust that the enemy does not find her."

"I do not question your prowess, Archonus. I do question your rationale, however. I know you to be a wise man and a strong man. But, I also know you as a man that thrusts too much responsibility upon himself.

No one wants you to have to hide your child, realistically, I am not even asking you to. I am asking that you assess what bringing this child with you will do to the Circle and to our cause.

Keep the child in Hyrwl or in Sylvanus - have her housed in your family's home - we have the magic for you to visit her every night to tuck her into bed and stand guard by her door. With the correct magic, you can constantly know her health and location. With a little more magic, you can be taken to her instantly if something were to go awry - think of the bracelets that I have gifted each of you with...

I would gladly teleport you back here with my own magic every night so that you might fulfill your fatherly duties, however; think very carefully about the danger she is in if adventuring with us... as well as the danger of having an unpredictable child with the leaders of a rebellion poses to us."

"I do not mind leaving the child with the shadows and anyother protections i can muster, for short durations, like planned missions. But when we are not actively engaging in battle she will be at my side. I feel it is more dangerous to leave her with lesser warriors and hope nothing happens then it is to keep her with me and *know* nothing happens."
