Babies and Wet-Nurses: A Conversation

[Xath]

The room echos with the clamorous smack of bone striking wood as Xath's jaw drops to the table. "....Exactly....how long ago did you two...split off?"

 

[Archon]

Archon looks to Xath with defeat in his eyes.
"The day i left to hunt down the rebel Jaine Rynn."

 

[Xath]

Xath looks relieved. "So you're not...her baby isn't....allright then."

As the static shock of Archonus' words clears the air, Justice quickly begins to speak. This affair intrigues her, but she realizes that it is a personal matter for Archonus (and his bride-to-be).

"Then, I believe we can all agree that Lady Goldenblade is not the," Justice pauses and coughs, "...healthiest ... of choices for Archonus' child."

"We will need to find a woman that is strong and capable of learning to defend herself, to at least a minimal extent." Look to Xath, "I believe that your budding network would be an asset here. Maybe they could find some young woman that has lost her child to nurse the child?"

 

[Xath]

Xath doesn't seem to heed Justice's words; she rather seems to be calculating in her head. "No...no...wait." Xath's eyes widen. "Archonus...she's of similar term to Jaine, but what if she's one month ahead?" She begins to ramble, speaking faster and faster. "Jaine's having twins, but if Dara's just as large with one baby, she could be one or two months ahead...did you two ever? I mean no no that's not my business, but Archonus....that baby could be yours."

 

[Archon]

As if dismissing the possibility entirely,
"No! Never. I mean....it's impossible. We..."
Concern races across his face as he starts to think of the possibility.

 

[Xath]

Xath's face noticably pales.

Not possible, unless she's having a 12 month pregnancy. Dara and AA weren't "intimate" in the right time frame. It's someone else.

An entertained smile floats on Justice's lips, but concern burns in her eyes. "Maybe we need to call the Lady Goldenblade in here, afterall."

OOC- I thought the timeline worked out so that Archon had only been with the group a month before he and Jaine had their interlude. Plus, even if they give birth at the same time, Jaine's going pre-mature. So if Dara had a full term pregnancy, even if there was a 2 month difference, they could still give birth at the same time.
