Baby, you can drive my car

I don't think I could ever get 6'1" me, 6'2" older son, his fiancee, my wife, my younger son, my cat's crate, my two beagle/basset dogs, and 400 bucks worth of groceries in that for a typical weekend of errands. :) Not to mention molding, paint, tools, lumber, etc for working on the house… Or the 14-year-old’s bicycle, which fits in the back.

No you cant, but this car is not meant for that. A Smart fortwo is to carry two people in luxury, on europian roads, in a city (an europian city).

The thing is Im "only" 6'2" and this car is much more spacious then the VOLVO I drove before, the seating is nice and upright, and I dont even have my seat all teh way to the back, the doors are large, and the car sits relatively high on its suspension, so getting in and out is very comfertable. further more I can get six crates of beer in the back (bottles, 0.5l Grolsh). AND it does 25 km to a liter (about 65 mls to a gallon), and I can park on tiny parkingspots.
Its not a family car, but Youll be suprised how roomy it is.

Ohhh, I was just wondering about that. It's a snazzy car I think, but I'm 6'6" and had pretty much decided that I'd never fit into one of those... Hmmmm, now I just need to actually have the money to buy one :p
My only demands in a car are: I can fit comfortably in it, it runs when I turn the ignition key and it requires a minimum of repairs. Well, fuel efficiency is important too (especially with the prices here in Denmark).

Jeez, where's the love for the classic car? You're all driving shiny new autos.

I drive a '65 Mustang GT with a Hipro V8 engine (289 cu. in./271 bhp).

I have a '69 Mustang Mach 1 & a '63 Willys Wagon sitting in my dad's barn.

The problem is that the 428 SCJ for the Mustang has a cracked block and I haven't been able to find one for a reasonable price to put in it's place (I may have to end up going with the 427 side oiler my dad has instead), and the Willys Wagon is in pieces waiting for a new frame & motor to skip underneath it...and then an interior....and paint and so on and so on and so on...

If you want some serious off-roading, you better look at Jeep (Wranglers only), Hummer or Land Rover; 'coz nothing else is serious about going off-road anymore.

Toyota still shows glimmers of interest in building decent off road vehicles...although the "softening" of the latest incarnations of the Land Cruiser & 4Runner is a bit disheartening.

Nissan's Xterra has a lot of potential, it's just a bear finding decent parts for them right now.

Hopefully things are starting to look up as their are rumblings that Ford wants to reintroduce the Bronco and have it share a platform with a new Land Rover Defender & Toyota has toyed with bringing back an FJ clone at some point not to mention the Wrangler sized H4 that GM is rumored to be planning to follow up the H3.
