Back from Origins!

I wish I could have made the dinner, but I was busy volunteering that night. I'm glad to hear people had a good time at the con though.

Insight - Erik was at the Paizo booth (a 4-booth island), not the WotC booth (also a 4-booth island, but not as well located as Paizo's.

They had a fair stock of material at the WotC booth, just no real pimping or free stuff like they did in previous years or at GenCon.

Wow, so somehow I totally missed the WOTC booth. That in itself is a sad indictment of how little WOTC regards Origins. In years past, the WOTC booth would have been impossible to miss!

Get yourself on the Loony Labs mailing lists, and also pick up their other Fluxx Games to add to your deck (Stoner Fluxx, Fluxx Jr, & Eco Fluxx-not sure if Jr & Eco are out yet). Also, there are a few yahoo groups and websites out there that have new Fluxx cards that you can add to your deck, and some of those people REALLY take playtesting their homemade cards seriously. One site even has a template you can use in Word to layout and add text to cards, then print them out at home.

Jr & Eco aren't out yet, but I have one of the cards from Eco that they pre-released as a promo (Composting).

We playtest the same way we do in Mao - make a new rule, play with it for a while and if it breaks the game, toss it.

The reason I noticed it is the huge sign pimping Robo Rally - sadly it is not yet out - have to wait for GenCon.

What was interesting was noting the Avalon Hill logo on the Robo Rally adverts.

A question about the Wizards booth...

I was hoping to pick up Five Nations (since it is a July release) but didn't see it there, as late as 11:30 am Sunday. I did see Weapons of Legacy on Sunday (which hadn't been there when I first checked Thursday). Did Five Nations make an appearance late Sunday? I really wanted that book!

mmm, Robo Rally. I definitely want to pick that up at Gen Con.

I'll have to try this Fluxx thing. CL talks about it a lot. It seems very popular.

I'm surprised all the TLG whores haven't come in here professing the greatness that is C&C yet! :)

I'm not going to be a exhbitor this year at Gen Con, so I'll kind of miss that, I think. I will be a Game Master, but I don't think there are any benefits for that. *shrug*
