Back issues of Polyhedron worth getting

Biohazard

First Post
As d20 Modern resources, I highly recommend getting the following three back issues of Polyhedron:

Pulp Heroes (the original)

Pulp Heroes Comes to d20 Modern (the d20 Modern "conversion")

Omega World (more of a parody of Gamma World than a true Gamma World successor, but a great resource, especially in the area of mutations).

Sorry, don't have issue #'s in front of me--I'm at my inlaws place for the holidays and left my stuff back home.

Anyone care to add to this list?

All of the above, plus I'd add the 'V for Victory' issue for the WWII based minigame, if for no better reason than to read a minigame that was in development around the same time as d20 modern.

i'd mention Hijinx and Deathnet as two of the most innovative minigames utilizing the d20 system.

i'll also second Iron Lords of Jupiter, because i'm a big fan of the genre.

although i love mecha, Mecha Crusade just didn't do anything for me. i thought their implementation of mecha into the d20 system was rather poor.

So are these polyhedrons that are easily gotten through backordering? And if so do I just look through the table of contents of the books to find the listings of say, Iron Lords of Jupiter, or are there certain numbers of polyhedrons that would make it easier to find them.

thanks,

Tellerve

I've picked up a couple at my local game shop, which keeps a decent shelf of back-issues. Generally, the mini-game issues have a big splat on the cover touting the particular minigame featured within that issue, so it usually isnt very hard to figure out what's inside by looking at the cover. I would post up the issue numbers but I dont have 'em handy here.

Pulp Heroes was the first of the new poly's.. Polyhedron #149, Dungeon #90

Shadow Chasers was next, polyhedron #150, Dungeon #91

Spelljammer: Shadows of the Spider Moon was polyhedron #151,Dungeon #92

Thunderball Rally, Good source of car modifications if nothing else, Poly#152, Dungeon #93

The Much Prasied Omega World was polyhedron #153,Dungeon #94

"Mecha Crusade" (poly#154/dungeon#95)
my favorite,

"GeneTech" (poly#155/dungeon#96), and "V For Victory" (#156/dungeon#97).

Incursion: Knights of the Lich Queen (#159/dungeon#100)

All of these for sale on Paizo's website for $10

Iron Lords of Jupiter (#160/Dungeon#101) not avaliable

Pulp Heroes goes Modern, (#161/Dungeon#102) $7

I don't know the issue numbers for the latest ones Hijinx and Deathnet.. but i know they are not avaliable for order on the website.

I may have also forgotten a recent one... none the less I hope this is helpful...

Omega World is probably my favourite though. :D

Ah yes! Iron Lords of Jupiter is superb. I love the artwork as well--the picture of the 1950's style rocket ship outside the suburban house is one of my favorites. Great game, great concept. Come to think of it, I've been wanting to run something inspired by Iron Lords...

Yeah right. As if it'll ever happen. Siiiighh... :(

...

I want to give Paizo a plug here...I don't work for them or anything, honest. :D But I ordered Omega World as a back issue from them and was impressed with their service. The guy on the phone was courteous and professional, they billed my VISA card, and Omega World arrived within a week...and I live in Canada, to boot (usually stuff from the USA takes longer to arrive here due to customs, etc.).

I would highly recommend ordering direct from Paizo. Just give them a call (check their website, it's got all the info there) and have either your or your mom's credit card ready.
