What Wizard spells would you use to destroy/battle an undead creature. You are free to use spells from any official sourcebooks (3,5).
The caster is a 10lvl wizard with an effective cl of 14.
Also please state why.

It depends on what it is, specifically.

Fire spells will work nicely against zombies or mummies, but will have a harder time affecting incorporeal undead.

Command undead works wonders against even thr toughest mindless undead, but isn't likely to succeed against any intelligent undead with a reasonable Will save.

Summoned monsters may be useful against undead with ordinary vulnerabilities, but will have a hard time against anything with damage reduction.

What I have in mind here is a vampire but later it will be a lich. Both of them will have class lvls but how many and what type is unknown.
