I'm really curious about this too. I don't have another PC to try, but it might be as easy as copying the files, replicating the file structure, and importing the proper registry files.
I'm really curious why CB2 allows you to export to .dnd4e files (I read that somewhere) in the first place when CB1 and the sheet viewer (which never worked properly for me) is the only app that allows you to view those files.
i DO wonder though what would happen if you used the install to do a clean install of the program on another computer, then replaced the folder it's housed in with the one from your old install?
Just for everyone's information, I just tried this with a new netbook I got for Christmas and it worked perfectly. The procedure I followed was...
1. Use installation download to install the basic CB on my netbook.
2. Delete the Character Builder folder from the Wizards of the Coast folder.
3. Replace the Character Builder folder with a copy of the same folder from my desktop PC (which was updated last in Sept 2010).
The CB on my netbook now contains all the info and functions exactly like the CB on my desktop.
I hope this helps anyone interested in maintaining their current version of the offline CB.
Actually it's no problem to get this into the offline CBBut does yours have Dark Sun, HoFL, HoLK or any of the Dragon/Dungeon content (like the executioner)?![]()
What is the "installation download"?
It's been a while since I installed...was there a file I should have saved?
Yes, this is right. I edited my previous post for clarity. Thanks.Character_Builder_Setup.exe, I presume.
