[Bad Axe Games] Products on the horizon?

Wulf,

Are there any web previews for Grim Tales? I have heard good things about the game, but I don't have a flgs where I can actually check out the rules

Here's the product webpage but these are really enhancements rather than previews.

If you have questions, Wulf and his hangerson (myself included), would be happy to give you some details, I would imagine. What is it you are interested in knowing?

Run don't walk to Indie Press Revolution. Don't bother to stop to read reviews man! You are just delaying the time before you have Grim Tales in your hands!

No really, Yuan-ti's link is good, here at ENWorld is a good one and I think even Amazon has a review up. So get reading so you can join the rest of us GTers! You won't regret it.

Well, it sounds like I'm gonna have to get the Seven Saxons and Spellcasting book...

you and me both!

my family's away this weekend so i spent the day browsing the web (im sorry to say) looking for any d20 products that really 'grabbed' me...nothing.

then i come on here tonight and see this little innocuous post and - BAM. two products that have me more excited than the biggest and shiniest books out this year.

happy times are here again...

props from hotlanta,
W.P.

Seven Saxons is a great module. Wulf ran it at the last Boston gameday (at Piratecat's place). It's very combat-heavy but a lot of fun.

The characters for it were also using additional rules from Mythic Heroes, which basically gives each character a path (sort of like the heroic paths in Midnight) that grant additional abilities. The abilities are all based on Action Points, however, and give the characters a TON of more ways to burn their AP's.

I have a lot of irons in the fire at the moment. Among those things waiting for publication (some more imminently than others):

Spellcasting
(working title) A Grim Tales spellcasting supplement-- skill based spellcasting, spells-on-the-fly, new spell burn models, new feats, sample "Grim" spells, and recommended spell lists

Oh yeah! :)

This is the one I am most excited for!!!!

I know this isn't in the 'Open Call' section, but since I am really fond of what I've seen so far out of Bad Axe (and just finished reading GT cover to cover)...

Other than Seven Saxons, which is already done, are you looking for any submissions for these products? I would be interested mostly in the Spellcasting product, which seems to have a lot of potential.

I don't know yet where I stand on Open Call (more likely than not) but in the meantime it never hurts to drop me an email.

Any chance of the Spellcasting book making it into print? I'd love to be able to pick it up at GenCon if possible.

That's the plan-- but it kind of depends on how much material I end up with.

You folks might have noticed I am usually pretty... what's the word? concise? with my design work.

I don't want to pad it out just for the sake of bumping up the page count so I can print it.

I mean, I feel pretty good about how I handled Mass Combat in 8 pages... Spellcasting (such as it was in GT) in about 8 pages... Horror in 10... You see what I'm saying?
