[Bad Luck] The Paladin cannot save... :-\

Failing saves is one thing, but failing especially those, which kill you, and where you only need to roll a 2+, that's really not the best idea. ;)

Back in the 2E days, our group had a player who played a dwarf fighter with an 19 Con and therefore, had a impressive poison save.

In the course of the campaign, the dwarf died 6 times out of 6 poison attacks that hit him. It was so bad that thereafter, whenever we encountered a poisonous creature or trap, the dwarf would run like a frightened schoolgirl.....

We still laugh about that to this day.

I tend to roll hot or cold in streaks, often in the same session, but for different things.

My current PC, a Monk/Wizard;

First ever combat roll: 1
First ever damage die: 1
First saving throw roll: 3

When trying to sneak up to a goblin lair;

Spot checks (base die roll) 19,18,20
Move Silent (base die roll) 2,2,3

Yeah, well, I saw them, but they sure as heck heard me coming!
