Bad night at D&D

Glad to see that you are rolling with the punches it always hurts worse when you dm and the session goes sour. Perhaps you should take a session off or have someone else run a couple of adventures, heck buy a new computer game or read a new book, go see Harry Potter. It always helps to get a new perspective. As dm's we sometimes forget what players like.

Yeah; one interesting thing is that when I ran my own homebrew world I felt like I was always prepared. Now that its my turn to DM again and I'm running a module, I feel like I have to work a lot harder. No more just making stuff up if people wander off the main track.

Of course, that's just my impression. One funny thing about that is that I felt so-so about our last session, but all of the players have told me how much they enjoyed it and immediately set about scheduling the next one. So be aware that your perception may be a bit off from your players; if you are lucky, that will turn out to be a good thing. ;-)

Number 47 on parenthood:
Sometimes, because of this, it is very hard to have everyone involved in the game at the same time.

Any tricks on this? It seems one parent or the other must constantly hold the baby, which means that one player is distracted pretty much all the time.
