[BADD] How would a Dragon MOVE its hoard?

Tom Cashel said:
Despite Wolfspider's (very) clever pun...the "gizzard" (for lack of a better term) is the only idea that looks at the logistical problems of moving of a hoard from a dragon's point of view, rather than that of a PC wizard.... I thought you BADD people were supposed to be creative?!?

No problem.

  • The villager looked up, blinked, and stared into the sky. "Hollis?" he said in a very small voice.

"Yes?" asked his brother, looking at the dogs fighting down the street.

"Is that... is that a huge ship there, flying through the sky, being carried by a gigantic dragon?"

Hollis was quiet for quite some time. He had forgotten the dogs. "Yes," he finally said. "Yes, it is. It's the Trout. I heard she went down in a storm, along with three other smaller vessels. Apparently... apparently she got borrowed, instead. But what does a dragon want with a ship?"
You guys know what a dragon wants with a ship! :D

I am not a member of the silly-named BADD

Hmmmph! I thought the name was rather clever.

*stalks away in a huff*

I thought you BADD people were supposed to be creative?!?

Heh. When did I ever claim to be creative? I just identified a need. You guys have to provide the creativity. ;)

I myself think the Dragon would use portable holes and/or bag of holding.

Also, even if it may seems silly, you have a problem when you put a bag of holding into a portable hole or vice-versa, but you can place a bag of holding into a Heward's Handy Haversack without problem. In fact, the dragon would put all his treasures in PH and BoH, and then put all the BoH and PH inside his HHH. Then teleport with the HHH.

Now, of course, I have my own subrace of wandering Dragons who create a lair into a demiplane keyed to them and to which they can teleport at will...

Piratecat, once again you defend your claim to the title of "King of the RBDM's". :)

Tom Cashel: I like the gizzard idea, and I have heard it before, but it still means the dragon will have to make multiple trips. If not, a hoard sufficient for a Dragon will make the dragon look incredibly obese.

Can you see adventurers shooting at a dragon with a distended belly - with all the enthusiasm of a group of children shooting at a Piñata? :)

P.S. - Also don't forget that a dragon can metabolize anything it eats - even inorganic matter - so if it doesn't have a gizzard, anything it devours will become "fuel". Including adventurers. :)
