Baern Library and d20 Publishers

If you're happy to "run" it, WR, I'm happy to host it. All that would be needed is a moderator of sorts for the section. Setting it up would be a matter of a few minutes (although it would look a little primitive at first - that can be changed easily, though) and assigning you as moderator of the section.

As long as Hellhound has no objections, I'm glad to donate MFA.

Seems Morrus is game for the idea, great. We'll let him do a free section...

A thought just occured to me... what about EARNING RPGNow points. You can spend those points to "purchase" the stuff in the GIFT SHOP section or something like that. So only pre-approved stuff that would go for free, but only to people who buy regularly from RPGNow. Sort of like a rewards program on a credit card - they work don't they?

James

If my RPGNow purchases helped me earn points for additional goodness from RPGNow, I'd definitely be motivated to purchase more. Consider it a good idea.

I like that too.

I have a lot of "little things" that wouldn't make a decent product, but would be a good 6-12 page PDF (like those savage rules I posted) to put in the Gift Shop.

I'm whole heartedly behind both ideas.

Since it's my vision for the library, I guess I'm in too as the librarian, although I will look funny in the dress and old-lady glasses, but hey, we all have to make sacrifices for something we love, right?

Maybe I can talk Roudi into helping me. We can put ads in "Modernized" that list what new products have been added to both the gift shop and the library.

Any hope of getting a starving artist to do us up a nice little logo for the library?

You can count me "talked in," Ralts. You know I'm more than happy to encourage more free gaming goodness.

Flint's statement, that most of us read what we read now because of books that were loaned to us by friends or the library, certainly struck true for my girlfriend and I. And for those of you who think that the analogy cannot apply to gaming material, get this: my first online session was made possible by an AD&D Player's Handbook loaned to me from my public library. Also, the first 3.0 materials I owned were pirated PDFs... thanks to them, I began writing gaming material. I wouldn't be here if it weren't for the books that were loaned to me, and I'd be willing to bet the case is the same for the majority of you.

As an aside, I have gotten rid of my ill-gotten gaming goods and am a strictly honest purchaser of PDFs.

This is a chance to help build long-term customer relationships for a very small, fiscally inconsequential investment. I think you are all aware of the amount of traffic ENWorld receives on a daily basis. Imagine providing each an every one of those a completely free, no-strings-attached product. Think of how many people you would impress, and how that would reflect on your company. Think of how many more sales you could get when all these people find out that you offer other products for competitive prices. Just think about it.

I wouldn't mind helping you out in the librarian role. And between us, at least I KNOW I look good in a dress. ;)

The Le Games is in.

The Le Games will be happy to donate an Unorthodox Class book or two to this cause.

Once it is all setup, please contact me with details: TheLeGames@yahoo.com

I will try and monitor this thread for developments, but I may forget.

Yeah, I dig it too. I'll figure something out with some titles that haven't been released as PDFs yet, or something.

Remind me when we get closer to launch.

Great idea. How about special "only available to reward points" pdf products?

The Le Games would be happy to donate "special" small products that is not available for normal sale. I have tons of material I have not published yet that I could donate to the cause. It would make the customers feel special for getting something special that you cannot normally get, and it would be a good cross promotion for my company name.
