If they're dead, why bother with reduce? Just hack the body into little pieces and stick them in. Raise Dead (or other such spells) will put them back together again.

No one I've ever played with would ever dream of doing something so ridiculously out-of-character.

Well that's just it. I've seen several characters who would do it without too much thought. It's just a body, after all.

I was wrong about the Raise Dead thing, though. It would have to be Resurrection. It is practical, though a bit morbid.

If you have access to Resurrection, you don't need to hack up the whole body. All you need is a small fragment that was part of the body when it died. Good characters might secure a lock of hair, and then respectfuly bury the corpse.
