D&D 5E Baldurs Gate 4 And Heresy

A lot of my ideas bubble a long quietly in the back ground. This one dates back ultimately to 3E. Maybe 2E with Faith's and Avatars.

Late 3E they were mucking about with the Amaunator/Lathender rising sun heresy. In effect foreshadowing Amaunators return in 4E.

Age of Worms in 3.5 had the Ebon Triad. A heresy by followers of Nerull, Hextor and Vecna iirc.

FR god drama old trope. Anyway how about a Ebon Triad heresy involving the dead 3 set near Baldurs Gate. Bane, Bhaal, Mykul become 1 deposing Cyric maybe Kelemvor as well. New dark god.

Faiths of Shar, Selune and Lathender involved as well. Of course each dark Acolyte involved believes they will be the vessel for the new dark god. Cyric, Shar and Kelemvor heretics could also believe they will be the chosen one.

NPCs from the game won't be around but might get name dropped. Tavs fate, race, gender etc will be ambiguous. I wont be cloning them. Arrival in BG will be level 4 just after the camp scene. Campaign level will top out 10-12.

Locations from the game can be used eg Elfsong Tavern.

I've got two weeks for a level 3 side quest then after that session or two departure. Basic idea good, bad, crap?
