Heavy flail I guess... So I take it there are no spiked balls on a chain in any rule book?

Use the Heavy Flail stats but add the Bludgeoning/Piercing damage type found on the Morningstar.

Either Martial and 2d4 [19-20 crit] with reach and all flail options

Are you referring to a meteor hammer?

I know Dragon had a write up for it, but I can't remember which issue. You could use the spiked chain stats for that and add bludgeoning to the damage type I suppose.

A friend of mine had a bachelor's weekend at the beach; I attended and showed up in time to watch 10 guys mob the groom and masterlock a 10-lb chain cemented to a 16lb bowling ball. Everywhere we went he had to carry it, and as we passed women would ask, "What's he doing?" while guys would laugh and say, "HA! He's getting married!"

He even went golfing with the damn thing.
