So what happened to bring this about?

If you were declaring bankruptcy, and had lots of stuff, it would be kind of obvious what happened. There arent a whole lot of things that will put most people that deep into a hole without any tangible asset to show for it.

The only guesses that come to my mind are medical fee's, student loans, gambling, and hookers & blow.

Anyway, dont answer if you think its not the business of a bunch of people on an RPG forum.

Student Loans cannot be discharged through bankruptcy if they were federally guaranteed, which most are.

Educate and Jobs

Well, now would be a good time to start educating yourself about having money work for you instead of working for money. Go get the book, Rich Dad, Poor Dad [by Robert T. Kiyosaki]. It is $16.95 and worth every penny.

From your list of items, you don't really have any assets (mostly liabilities). Lots of the items have decreased value the moment you bought them. So, they will not help you much in the way of getting alot of money fast. I would only sell them if you despretly needed food. Other then that, you might have to get another job.

my rpg stuff (about 25 linear feet on the book shelves).

It's not much, but I worry about the rpg stuff bc that would be the hardest to replace.

I would actually sell the stuff to a friend and declare the moneys mad eoff of them in your list of assets. Someone who could hold onto them until you get bvack on your feet, and then sell them back to you.

I would think that is legal, considering you are declaring all your assets.
