Banshee...

Well, you'll prolly find that most people here are reluctant to post copyrighted information. If you're lucky someone might email it to ya, though....

As for me, I unfortunately don't have my books near me- having recently returned from a cross-country trip, I haven't yet retrieved them from the home of the friend I left them with.

And not even then. most people are real adament about the writers and producers geting what they are due. You would have to prove you have the book before someone is willing to send you something from the book. They usually ask you what is written on page X, line Y, and column Z.

But since you already told us you don't have the book- you probably won't be anle to get the exerpt.

Why not just go to the local game store and tell the guy you would pay him a dollar if he lets you copy one thing out of it.

Since I don't have MM2 and don't intend to grab it, the banshee coming up shortly in my game is a ghost with a Wail ability that mimics the effect of Horific Appearance, with a 60' range, useable once per minute.

As an aside, why do people need Monster Manuals?

Is it truly that difficult to make a new critter or modify an old one to suit a requirement?

But, I've quasi-ranted about this before...and been somewhat shouted down...:D

If I had nothing else to do all day, and enjoyed tedious numbers-crunching, then I would be more than happy to make up every monster I need.

The same reason I need classes, races, rules, magic systems, magical item, etc. It saves me time. I'm sure much of the info in books we could come up with although the quality might be lacking if we had the time and desire to do so.

Yeah cool, I understand.

Exactly the reason I have the MM.

But if you just need one critter...it only took me 5 mins to work out how I would deal with my banshee...

Edit: This all comes back to comments I've made many a time, to the effect that DMs need to be able to work beyond the books. If you need a particular type of creature, or spell, or whatever, and that thing is not presented in the source material that you have, you should be able to create it without needing access to a whole new rulebook.

Oh, and it occurs to me that my comment directly before the edit is a little arrogant and probably overly critical of the original poster. No offense intended. Not enough sleep. :)
