Common sense says Rage would immediately end if unconscious. The rules as written do not. There is no rules problem here.
IMO, the real design problem is that HPs in the range of 0 to -10 are handled "coarsely" (sloppily). There are a number of corner cases that do not make much sense.
I disagree. I say that common sense says instead that a barb *cannot* end rage when unconcious, even if they wanted to. Rage is an adrenaline type thing. You can get a LOT of adrenaline in your body when it thinks it's dying. Hell, common sense (Perhaps I should qualify this as common sense IF you've studied biology) practically says that a person capable of raging would automaticaly rage if taken to 0 or fewer hit points.
