D&D 5E Bard-Lock Help with Spells

Hey everyone. I am playing a level 7 Pact of the Tome Warlock with a homebrew Patron named Torana. I am going to multiclass into Bard but the multiclass guidelines in the PHB confuse me. Can someone use an example on here, as I have not played a caster yet? Can I use, for example, the Sleep spell (a 1st level bard spell) using my level 4 slot in Warlock? If yes, how many spells can I do that with? The multiclass spell table in the PHB seems to conflict with the Pact Magic section on the previous page. How many spells would a "Bardlock" be able to cast and slots at 8th level? Thank you.

I think the answer is on the last paragraph on PHB p. 164.

Yes, your Warlock slots can be used to cast a bard spell you have prepared.

So, cantrips aside, in your example you know 8 Warlock spells (up to 4th level) and 4 first-level Bard spells, and have 2 4th-level slots (from warlock) and 2 1st-level slots (from Bard).
