Its more like concrete poetry. You hold a harmonica in one hand, blow a couple of notes during combat and say "Far out trout, swimming in the sky". Then you conjure magic, man.

There was another, highly contentious, thread about an axe-guitar.

In short, you cannot build a device that lets you ignore the fact that you have only two hands.

This restriction bites, because I have a Rogue/Ranger who wants to carry twin "pistols" (hand crossbows with the Underdark Dwarf feature from Out of the Abyss) and a shield at the same time.

Tangent: the restriction is probably why Tiefling tails are not prehensile.

As for violin crossbowing I don't think it can be done, short of the world's smallest violin.
