ALCHEMY & HERBALISTS
We're putting the finishing touches on A&H now, incorporating playtest feedback as we move forward with putting this alchemical concoction to bed. Our fearless editor, Aaron Rosenberg is hard at work hunting down any rogue grammar gremlins as well. No offense to any rogues that might be grammar-challenged, of course!

Expect to see A&H in stores by mid-April. We'll keep you posted...

FICTION OF GAMING
My latest column speaks of gamers, gaming fiction, and the tribulations of working in shared worlds.

SPELLS & MAGIC
We're closing the contest early and sending it out for playtest feedback. If you were working on something for consideration, please send it directly to jim@bastionpress.com by Sunday, February 24th.

What can you expect to see in Spells & Magic (other than the obvious)? Expect to see some very cool prestige classes built around some magical concepts. These include:

* Blood Magic (Spellcasters powering spells through their own life
force)
* Dragon Magic (the secrets of draconic spellcasting, and the price one must pay to harness it)
* Faerier (Fey magic for bards, druids, and rangers)
* Master Healer (Want to be good the very best at keeping others
healthy?)
* Mirror Magic (Spellcasters that rely on mirrors to work their Craft)
* Rune Magic (A prestige class built around rune casting)
* Shadecraft (Spellcasters drawing their power from the realm of shadow)
* Spellsinging (The power of song)
* Totem Magic (Spellcasters that draw their power through their animal
totem)

In addition to these new forms of magic, expect to see a collection of spells and magical items to round out the book.
