[Batman] Well, finally...

A Batman casting job I can actually get behind.

I think Christian Bale is pretty close to the perfect choice. He can do physical stuff, he can do dark, and he's a gifted actor.

This bodes well for the possibility of a new Batman movie I'd actually pay to go see. :)

Now if we can just get Dominic Purcell as the next Superman, I'll be truly happy.

I'd rather they just wait a few years and let Smallville's Tom Welling graduate from the small screen to the big screen.

Excellent Batman choice, though.

Agreed. Fresh face. Very gifted. AND I loved him in American Psycho. (Which suits a Batman type character VERY well. :) )

A good actor, now for story! Do they have a director? with the number of superhero movies maybe it will be good BUT it is coming late to the party...

Problem is, by the time Tom Welling looks old enough to play an adult Superman, he may well be too old to keep up with the part. He's 26 years old already, and he's still playing a high schooler. Christopher Reeve was younger than that when he first played Superman as an adult. Welling's just got too much of a baby-face to play Superman, IMO.

re

That is a perfect casting job. Unbelievable that someone finally decided to pick an actor who looks a great deal like the actual comic character facially and physically. Wow!!!

I can't wait to see this new Batman now.

I just hope Christian Bale dyes his hair black for the movie.

Rumor has it (so take this with some salt) that the main villain will be Ra's Al Ghul, the film is partially set in London and the Scarecrow plays a small part.

Seeing that they settled for Bale (wonderful choice), WB seems to have abandoned any thoughts of rebooting the franchise with an origin flick, and simply telling a story without needing to explain the whole enchilada (kinda like X-Men 1, where we start in media res).
