A Batman casting job I can actually get behind.

I think Christian Bale is pretty close to the perfect choice. He can do physical stuff, he can do dark, and he's a gifted actor.

This bodes well for the possibility of a new Batman movie I'd actually pay to go see.

Now if we can just get Dominic Purcell as the next Superman, I'll be truly happy.

I think that the Darren Aronofsky/Year One deal has been dead for a while. I'm non-commital on Aronofsky, but a Year One movie would have been rad.

We were watching Equilibrium the other night, and when it was over I asked my girlfriend "Why doesn't this Bale guy get more work?" I liked him in Equilibrium. I liked him in American Psycho. I liked him when he was a kid in Empire of the Sun. People like to dump on the movie, but I liked him in Reign of Fire. I haven't seen Newsies, but I've heard good things . I hope that this exposes him to a wider audience, because I think he's an extremely talented actor. Certainly a better choice for Batman than the Afflecks of the world.
