Battlemat storage

I keep mine rolled up in a large cardboard tube. When I get it out to use (which is basically never since I now just use Flip Mats) I just roll it the opposite way quickly. It still rolls up a little at the corners but that's nothing that a bit of weight like a book won't fix.

I also roll it up and stick it in a carton tube with the square grid facing outwards. This way it doesn't curl up but down. The weight of thing itself takes care of most of the curling when I lay on the table.

What are these Flip Mats of which you speak?

Don't fold them!

Roll them up. An hour before the game get the out and lay them out on the table reverse side up. By the time the play starts it will be fine - flip it over and it will be flat.

This here?

I don't know if this is what he's referring to, but it's what I use. It's kind of like a giant plastic card sleeve, for maps. I actually got a giant, heavy stock 1" grid printed at Kinkos (which was very cheap since it was only black) and then besides that grid I can put battlemaps in this too. Dry erase works fine on it, and it stays flat. I just hang it up in my closet when I'm not using it.

The plastic holder itself is like $8.
