Some pictures of maps for our annual Batteltech convention here in Minneapolis happening this weekend. My all day event has 40 players and I have 20 neoprene mats worth of 3D terrain plus 5 4'x6' final battle set ups.
(I'll be sure to get a lot of pics from the action in the coming days.)

Love those maps! Those look like they took a lot of work.

My much younger self used to run convention games with about 20-30 players. My maps were paper hexes glued to cut styrofoam. It was much more crude and ugly!

How does your game run? Do you have, for example 5 v 5 on a map or more? I usually did 3 large maps with something like 10 v 10, and I would use flash cards with colors to determine initiatives. I’d draw a card and say “Red Mechs” and anyone with a Red Mark on their Mech Sheet took their move.

So, my convention game is a progressive one. The first match is a 2 hour 1v1 played on a single CGL neoprene mat. The second match is a 3 hour 2v2 played on two CGL neoprene mats. Finally, the last match is a 3.5 hour 4v4 played on a single 4' x 6' mat. I'll be sure to get a lot of photos to share with y'all here.

Thank you for sharing! I’m very impressed, that looks like a lot of thought and work went into designing it. I really like how each phase not only builds on the scenario but has different goals and objectives, so it’s not just a slugfest round to round.

I’m truly looking forward to your battle photos! Hope the tournament goes great!

I appreciate the comments. KSAGG is like the super bowl of BT for me so I definitely put a lot of work into it. Not sure if I shared my promotional video YT channel or not?

I also ran a persistent intro tech tournament a few times this year to great success. If you have 4 or more players in even number its a great day of gaming. I call it Raid on Dixie. I stole the idea from a fella in Iowa so feel free to take this and run with it as you see fit.
