Prejudice against bearless gaming?! The beards are more of a poke at us bald men. A tease as it where. "Look! We can game with beards! Can you game with hair? HAHAHAH you follically challenged APE!!" &*^&-You WOTC and your mockery!!!

I do like the tip to boobs in gaming. Boobs make EVERYTHING much better.

I guess it is really a game of T i t for Tat.

As long as we do not also need ponytails, pot-bellies, and body odour, I think I can handle.

That's how they make their money, see: reprint the rules so that the game heavily favors the beard, making it difficult to play without one. So you try it out, who knows, maybe just takes some getting used to...

And then, just when you start to get used to it, they release a second rule book the next year only this time the rules are heavily favored to playing with yet more "options"... See where this leads? Pretty soon your library is filled with splatbooks with titles like "Friendly Mutton-Chops", "the Franz-Josef", and "Chin Curtain".

I for one will never play such a manicured style of game. I prefer to keep it real: coke-bottle glasses, orthopedic shoes, and anti-dandruff gel. And no beard.

GET WITH THE 21st CENTURY!

People used to play without beards simply because they didn't have the resources to do so. Not Everyone could grow a beard back in the 70's and even in the 80's if you wanted to play a bearded game, you had to create alot of your own accessories. Just TRY to find a good mustache trimmer or beard-gel in the 80's.

These days, people have seen how much more tactile a beard can be and enjoy it as an addition to their roleplaying. WotC is just going in the same direction as most of their audience.

My group still plays beardless occasionally, but for the most part we enjoy playing with AT LEAST a 5 o'clock shadow.
