Anybody got the new Futurama movie? How is it? Found the first one a disappointment with just too many pop culture references. Hope this one is better.

I'll be picking it up today -- I enjoyed the first one immensely though it was a bit too "plotty" for my taste, not quite zany enough. But still a load of fun.

Ok, my evaluation: it's weird, has kind of a lumpy pace to it, I couldn't always tell where it was going plot-wise -- but it was great to see the gang back in business!

Saw it a while ago, it's not great but it got quite a few laughs at out me so I was happy with it :).

I ended up entertained and laughing so what more does one want, I didn't expect a masterpiece especially after Benders Big Score.

I picked a copy up today. I loved it. I actually thought it was funnier than Bender's Big Score.

On a side note, did anybody watch the preview to the 3rd movie (Bender's Game)? I can't wait for this one. Spoilers: [sblock]It has many references to D&D and Lord of the Rings including a d12, Dwight (Hermes' Son) and Cubert playing D&D, orcs, Leela as a centaur and Professor Farnsworth as Gandalf[/sblock] It looks like it comes out November 08.

Did not like it. "lumpy pace" is damn right. It makes most of the characters involved less likable, stretches increduality far beyond aceptable levels{even for Futurama] and keeps going long after it should have ended.

I still enjoyed Bender's Big Score. I guess maybe I do not have high expectations and wind up enjoying and hoping to see more of Futurama.
