Beguiling Strands

Couldn't figure out if there's an appropriate forum for this these days... it's a simple question: does Beguiling Strands (Wizard At Will) add some damage modifier beyond INT modifier?

Online CB adds only INT modifier, and I guess it's right, but is there a rule saying that?

The rule is in the power description. Some powers only do ability modifier damage, some a die+ability mod, some 1[W]+ability and others just 1[W].
The power Beguiling Strands is still considered one of the best wizard at-wills with it's low damage because of the large area and forced movement effects, it is great for killing minions and shoving enemies into dangerous terrain or position them for your allies.

The power's HIT line shows "Intelligence modifier psychic damage, and you push the target up to 3 squares."

Therefore the only damage is the INT modifier. However, this is an implement power so any implement bonus will also apply in the case the wizard is using a magic implement.

It's all in the power.

Believe me, a wizard (enchanter) using beguiling strands in a game where the dm uses cool (and dangerous) terrain is extremely effective. (I'm the dm in such a case.)

Assuming you mean the implement's enhancement bonus to damage rolls, you are unfortunately incorrect.

No bonuses to damage rolls apply to Beguiling Strands, because there is no damage roll. So, no implement enhancement, feat bonus, dragonshard, etc.

Hi, guys. The question Avin posted was greatly caused due to a possible bug in the CB.

The Damage Output for Beguiling Strands (no dice rolled+Int modifier damage)
Implement: +x on attack rolls and damage rolls
Crystal Orb: energized (Psychic) +2 bonus to damage rolls
Resplendent Gloves: When you hit an enemy with an attack power that targets Will, the attack deals 2 extra damage.

The CB add the Crystal Orb Superior Implement Bonus and Resplendent bonus to the damage (a total of +4), but not the Implement bonus. I think this is a Bug, because or the Implemente and superior implement bonuses should be added (both are for damage rolls, if there is no dice rolled, there is no roll) and the Resplandent Gloves bouns, or only the Resplandent Gloves Bonus (in the text of the item there is no mention to damage rolls, only damage).

Another case is the Dual Implement Spellcaster and Magic Missile.
Magic Missile has no damage roll either, but explicitly says that the implement bonus is added to the power damage, I think, in this specific case, logic says that de second implement bonus should be added to the damage too. Again CB doesn't add it to this power (even if for all the others the damage output is added).

Magic Missile has special language to make it work, yep.

The gloves do work, because extra damage does not require a damage roll.
