(Belated) How to scare small children on Halloween

I think I won Halloween this year. No. Seriously. I had the coolest Halloween costume ever, and I scared the bejeezus out of kids when I answered the door and hissed at them. I went as the xenomorph from the Alien movies. Behold. :]

The first flock of trick'or'treaters went running, screaming into the night. Except for the 5 year old dressed as Darth Vader. Either he was the most awesome 5 year old on the planet, or he couldn't see a thing out of his helmet. *glee*

Eventually the rest of my group lured me back from the door to play a pirate themed game (and sip 20 year old rum), but I had a blast and it temporarily relieved the 4e disillusionment blues. And I would have had the pictures up earlier, but I've been busy setting up a new computer (a big black, glossy thing with a reddish-pink LED I've happily named Vorky after the SH1 namesake).

Note: I didn't make the costume myself.

Note2: My roommates who are both in my campaign are trying to tempt me to go as Nerath the Marauder (of SH2) for Halloween next year. However this would involve both some cross-dressing on my part and the inherent ill-association to be had if anything remotely called a fursuit would be involved. They're trying hard, but I might not hear the end of it if I listen to them.

Holy crap!!! Scary as all hell! Not cool!

That carpet is nasty, have you ever vacuumed it? Maybe a little shampoo- you know you can rent those machine cheap? (j/k)

Cool costume.

Damned impressive costume. Still haven't figured out how you saw anything but cool.

PS: I'm admittedly a furry and even I don't fursuit for pretty much that reason. Even one instance of a fursuit WILL be photographed and follow you around unmercifully, especially if cross-dressing is involved.

Wow, how did you see out of that?

Short answer: not very well

Long answer: while you can't easily see them, the neck has horizontal slits cut into it between the ridges, which get fairly obscured from the outside by the paint pattern, but it gives pretty good visibility looking down at about a 60 or 70degree angle, and good peripheral vision. Looking straight ahead any higher than that, you can see through the mouth somewhat, but it's not perfect.
