I think there's a big difference between standard spin and "spinning the crap" out of it because that implies they're hiding issues.

My impression is that the game is doing fine but barely registers. The spin is all about expanding into things like video games.

Okay. I can see where you’re coming from but I think that’s just how cynical people talk. Standard spin is spinning the crap out of to us.

I also think anything HASBRO says whether it's positive or neutral people will insinuate negativity as an automatic reaction. I don't see the point.

This is likely true. Most of the people doing it aren’t just picking on poor Hasbro though. They’d take any corporate statement with the same grain of salt. At least IMO.

Yup its an American corporation. Lots of ambiguous positive statements year on year predating 5E.

I think D&D is fine and theyre spinning the crap out of it. Its very American to me. That means itchy teeth. Ever had itchy teeth?

The D&D is fine opinion may change in about a year from this post or year after that.

Outside anything catastrophic happening.

I initially had reservations. The new system was too similar. But those reservations have mostly passed. Mostly because there seems to be enough adoption despite those things. The similarity probably helps more people stick with it, instead of either liking it or 5e much better and ultimately leaving it en mass at some point.

Why have reservations?

I had one player ask about it. We will probably play it 3 years minimum regardless of WotC.

1st pure 5.5 game will start soon/early next year. By thst I mean from lvl 1.

We converted from 5.0 lvl 4. Curated 5.0 stuff allowed.

Probably have 1 more after that minimum see how we feel then.

I meant in terms of not being a commercial success because of its similarity to 5e. I guess people including myself don’t penny pinch as much as I believe. I bought it despite the similarity and not initially being a fan of most of the changes.

Thus the initial reservations.
