Best 5 books for True20?

Thanks everyone for your suggestions - I am primarily NOT looking for Setting Material, unless it has a crapload of genre specific stuff that can be used in other games. If at all possible, stuff that is usable in "most genres" is preferable to us.

Right now the list says:
- True20 Adventure Roleplaying Revised
- True20 Beastiary
- True20 Adepts Handbook (although a quick check tells me it is out of print, well, everywhere)

So, with this in mind (and considering the Handbook suggestions), are the Warriors / Experts Handbook any useful?

You are right on with the first three choices, and since you want no setting stuff I would round it off with "Vehicles" and "Technothrillers", both from Reality Deviant Press. And Fantasy Paths is a must if you are planning on playing fantasy. A friend of mine picked it up and it has been invaluable to our group.

If you were thinking of dabbling into settings, I would recommend:

1. True20 Roma Imperious
2. Legends of Excalibur
3. Blood Throne

And products I am looking forwards to:

1. True20 Ancients line
2. Reign of Discordia line.

Good luck and welcome aboard. True20 rocks.

That sounds fantastic. :)

Actually its even more fantastic... I've been told that Expeditious Retreat is planning on releasing them later this month!

I only have the gazetteer (and the original material in Worlds of Adventure) - well, also Liber Artefactorum, but I don't consider that too setting-specific, and have used it elsewise - so this'll be heaps of new goodness to get my mitts on. Excellent.

I'm glad you've got the Gazetteer and LA... both were great fun to design and write ;)

I'm probably going to pick up Reign of Discordia too, more or less for their starship rules, which will be important in one of my upcoming campaigns.

Nevermore sounds extremely interesting and I've always had this seed for an adventure about fey, the feylands, changelings and redcaps. :D

Did someone mention fey, the feylands, and redcaps? Actually the Big Trouble in Little Oaktown introductory adventure for Nevermore has all three ;)

As for changlings... well it doesn't have them, but it doeas have a whole bunch of kidnapped kids (who might just be turned into changelings if the heroes don't rescue them). ;)
