D&D 4E Best campaign ever? I want to turn it in to 4e

I'm thinking about taking an older campaign and converting it to 4e for my players to try. I never played D&D before 4e, but I think it'd be a fun task to at least occupy my time.

What is held as one of the best campaigns/modules?
Are there any tips I should keep in mind when converting the rulesets?
Has this been done previously so that I can have a guide as to what to look for?

Thanks in advance for your input!

My first bit of advice holds regardless of what you convert. Do not do a straight conversion. Use the existing adventure as a guide, but keep in mind that those adventures mayhave been built without many of the assumptions 4e uses.

As for campaigns and adventures? The 3e Eberron adventures, both official and in Dungeon, were fun as hell, but unless you intend to play in Eberron, there may be little reason to do this. I may have to do this myself, actually, and make some awesom overarching plot to connect them all...

The Age of Worms Adventure Path was a fun read, but I don't know how it would hold up in play. It did stay mostly in the material plane, except for one excursion to a wild island and another into the past. I may have to convert, tweak, and run this, too.

I didn't play earlier than 3e, though of course there are many cool adventures from thence. Couldn't give you any details, though. :/

Hmm, good point about straight conversions. I honestly hadn't thought about differences outside of monster templates.

And I'm not too terribly worried about the setting, as my campaign takes place in a point of light setting. I've been strongly considering the Dark Sun campaign, since the world my players are currently in is one where there has already been a disastrous result of the abuse of magic, and I think a world set 1000 years in the future could be unique.

Never been a big fan of modules because it requires more time and energy to memorize rather than making the world myself. (IMHO) ^_^

However, from time to time I do steal an idea (or create a variant thereof) from this list. It's been pretty helpful. ^_^ Good luck!

Of all the APs I've been through, the one I enjoyed the most was without a doubt...Savage Tide!

That would be my vote for conversion...and if you do, or actually whichever you decided to convert...make sure you post a copy of it in the boards!

I Just started a Savage Tides Game last month; it’s been a blast in 4e. I've extended the first module significantly to give a boost so that the party arrives on the Isle of Dread around level 9-10. This has been one of the best module's I've played in back in 3.5 and I Just wanted to see if I can give it it's just due in 4e.
